East African Nilotica Shea Butter (Vitellaria Nilotica) — also known as Muyao Butter — is a luxurious, soft-textured version of traditional shea butter. Extracted by mechanical pressing of wild-harvested shea nuts from the Vitellaria paradoxa nilotica subspecies native to Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya, this virgin butter remains unrefined to preserve its nutrients, natural aroma, and creamy yellow color.
Unlike the firmer West African variety, Nilotica Shea Butter is prized for its smooth, semi-soft consistency, which melts immediately upon contact with skin. Naturally high in oleic acid, vitamins A and E, and skin-loving phytonutrients, it delivers deep moisturization and promotes elasticity—making it ideal for delicate or mature skin types.

Formulation Notes
Natural butters may soften or melt during warmer conditions. Upon cooling, they can sometimes re-solidify with a grainy texture or develop a thin white “fat bloom” — a harmless separation of natural fats such as stearic acid.
To restore a smooth, creamy texture:
- Warm gently until fully melted.
- Stir thoroughly to emulsify the fats.
- Cool quickly (flash freeze) before storing.
Please note: Returns are not accepted for natural texture variations.
For large pails (20 lbs), a bucket wrench is recommended for easy opening.
Natural Living Note
Nilotica Shea Butter is one of nature’s rare luxuries — smooth, nutrient-dense, and rich in heritage. Its soft texture and nourishing profile embody the heart of Natural Skincare Ingredients: pure, intentional, and beautifully simple.
